Something is wrong with the hard drive basket.

This manufacturer is trying to reinvent the wheel and frankly it's ridiculous. Fix the drive with 4 screws. Super simple, very secure, your drive won't get pushed around, it won't come loose and the pins won't bend or damage from movement. This manufacturer has instead opted to use a piece of plastic that you fold down to snap the disc in place. Note that this plastic bar doesn't snap or click, it just folds up and down. The worst part is that -Due to the construction of the plastic attachment, there are 2 protruding parts. These only 1-2 millimeter protruding parts are actually the reason why I can't use the "support bar" for the intended purpose. My Samsung EVO 850 Apparently a few millimeters more than the bar so it can be seated properly so he can push the drive against the SATA interface to lock it in place. Well no big deal, it came in handy with the support bar off to use plastic " (I think that's technically easier to install since 4 screws is tricky), but if I can't use it because the measurements are wrong, I'll just attach the drive with my own screws, right? There are no holes or mounting points on the HDD to screw the drive to the case Excellent I can't screw the drive in I can't use a support bar as my Samsung SSD is clearly not a standard length What should I do to back up my hard drive? I'm not going to put this in my bag and walk up and down the hill to work just hoping nothing gets lost or damaged. D This manufacturer has a solution! They provide you with 4 plastic pins that you attach to your hard drive in place of the screws. And you simply slide the disc into place, and the pins act as an extra "frictional hold" that prevents impact and potential disc slippage. Excellent! I will continue to use the disc, mainly because if they dare to list it there for money, they have definitely tested their new replacement for the old and tired method of fastening things, screw and screwdriver, and are confident that failure to do so will result in any - or damage - under normal use.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Poor kit
