Revainrating 5 out of 5

Stable, durable aluminum construction, easy to adjust, well made. what's not to like?

What a relief. I was a little apprehensive about the (a little weird) negative reviews but decided to order anyway and chose the Pwr+ model from the (very similar) options as the Pwr+ seems to put a lot of emphasis on happy customers. It looks like it was a good decision. (And I have NOTHING affiliation with the seller. I was NOT given a free sample, nor was I asked to write a review. I just needed something to raise my keyboard and trackball to standing height, so I bought it.) The package arrived quickly and it was very easy for me to open and set up the stand. Yes the adjustment can be a bit fiddly but the locking tabs align and honestly a little patience and a positive attitude guys and I set it up in 5 minutes. It's very stable and the construction is of good quality, with aluminum legs, table and trackball shelf. The hinge mechanisms are plastic but appear to be quite sturdy, with very secure locking positions, and won't wobble when properly installed. Notice I said trackball shelf. I use a trackball and it's perfect for that. It's a little small for a standard mouse, about 2/3 the size of a typical mouse pad, but looks like it could be used that way if you're determined to get it working. The surface is textured with paint, giving the mouse some grip. I don't like using standard mouse devices. Trackballs don't hurt my hand and are easier to use. and stay where you put them. So this little shelf works great for me. It's also probably perfect for other input devices like the Apple Magic Trackpad. I have a pair of Macbook Pro 17's and although I only use the stand for a full keyboard (and trackball) and palm rest and don't use it to support laptops, I've tested it with one and it will certainly support a 17 inch laptop. Floor. So don't do that. Common sense is NOT included. Also tested the USB powered fans and they worked pretty well. Not quiet, but not loud either, and very useful for hot laptops. Well integrated, there's a dedicated USB - a cable in a small plastic bag, plus two clips for attaching laptops that look more like a boat. The Macbook has a simple flat front edge, and the built-in edge holds it well at a steeper angle than I can type comfortably. If you're planning on lying on your back in bed and want your computer at a crazy angle, you'll at least need clamps. Don't expect a miracle. It's not as wide as a bed breakfast tray so you probably can't stand it on both feet and have it comfortably, but I think it will work well if you position it and yourself sensibly. My only criticism, and a small one at that, is that rubber feet can be helpful in preventing the stand from sliding slightly on a smooth, molded table. I have small self-adhesive rubber feet from another device, so I'm fine. They must be activated. So, it was a ridiculously good buy. It's well made, well finished, relatively slim in design and fully adjustable. I can think of many other uses for one of these. and recommend this one among the clones available on Revain. Given my trepidation after reading the weird reviews, I'm pretty happy with this thing. UPDATE: Posted a photo of the latest setup showing the height adjusted and leveled but the legs are in different positions. In other words, the sides have different angles that are the same height from side to side. In my opinion, this makes the stand even more stable for use as a standing workstation. Again, unless more than one version is sold on this site, the legs are ALUMINUM, the swivels are plastic.
