Review on Adhesive Cabinets Furniture Iridescent Waterproof by Robert Gomatham

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Extremely strong adhesive, do not use on walls!

I chose this for my desk and am generally very happy with it. The adhesive on this material is incredibly strong compared to many other vinyls and I would only recommend using it for wrapping furniture (or otherwise) if it has a shiny finish or a surface you don't want to damage . This material will peel the surface off of something if the surface isn't sealed properly or is in poor condition. If you're doing this as a more permanent install, it's no different than installing as if you had to pull it out to troubleshoot. You will probably need to use a new part as this will leave old scraps of paint or paint and you can see them/this will create small raised areas where the dirt will get stuck. So make sure you install it correctly the first time or you may end up using more vinyl than expected. I would not stick this to the wall because of the very strong adhesive as it can damage the walls. You may be able to avoid this by using a heat gun when removing. This vinyl is very similar to plastic and does not stretch like some vinyl. It's great for countertops or countertops, but works differently than more stretchy/less plastic vinyl. Using a heat gun during installation requires a slightly different technique than sturdier vinyl, and this material tears/breaks easily and flows along a crack you don't have to watch out for if you apply too much heat. It doesn't stretch as well as traditional vinyl so think twice and make sure you know what you're doing in terms of corner wrapping. It would be better if you learned the corner cutting technique for this material than trying to heat it and stretch it around the corners.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options
