No comparison. It's ironic, but 3m thick and unbranded "heavy duty" tapes don't work at all (they don't stick to the boxes). The thinner, slightly smelly Uline fabric is the only way out. We used both types of tape during the move and the Uline material made it to the other side and looked the same as it did when we first moved. The 3m tape came loose and failed left and right. Note: The odor comes from the solvent in the adhesive, which is necessary for good adhesion. If you are worried about solvent, there is not enough solvent in it to harm you. It's all about the dose, and it's a very small dose.
