Exactly what I needed!

SUMMARY: This cable works great! It charges my phone perfectly (LG Optimus V). LONG recap and why I think this is what I was looking for: I have a 2012 Ford Focus that has a charging socket between the shifter and cup holders. When I use the car charger adapter for my phone in a wall socket, the adapter sticks straight up. I was afraid someone (me, my husband or one of our three dogs) might somehow hit it or break it etc. I found the USB12VM powerPLUG low profile USB car charger from Scosche and then realized I had a rectangular USB/ Micro USB cable would need to connect to it. (The regular USB that came with the phone works, but I still have the issue of something sticking out that could break.) When the package arrived I went to my car and plugged everything in to make sure. that the cable charges my phone. Aha! It happened! Hooray! Being a bit picky though, I found that the port cover would now be permanently sticky. (Is it me or am I just a very picky person?) But then I remembered I have another power outlet in the back seat behind the console. This connector is covered with a rubber cap. I wired everything up and then carefully slid the cable between the console and the passenger seat. The cable dangles nicely in the cup holders - And I don't have a huge cable just lying around since I tucked the extra cable between the console and the seat. So to my subtlety. Wondering how to find the USB port at right angles to the back seat where dogs usually ride? Spring. I also have the Outward Hound Back Seat Pet Hammock, Black, which keeps dogs in the back seat without access to the car floor. By the way, I have a "Dog about car" car door guard to protect the doors from dogs. Also, I don't think the right-angle USB end sticks out that much at the back. If you recall, I was more picky about the cover so the outlet always sticks out in the front seat. (I also don't like chunky veggies.)

Pros
  • BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY - USB 2.0 Supports high speed (480Mbps) and is backwards compatible with USB 1.1 and USB 1.0 devices
Cons
  • Fast OK
