I asked my dog for comfort, but he couldn't understand me, so I assume he's fine. The dishes are great! Really holds up and I really wanted to like it but the pockets sucked. I often take my dog on hikes and hikes and these bags really suck. First, they are too small and almost nothing fits in them. My dog Illa loves to run and jump! These bags bounce off her like ping pong balls and end up dangling to one side. So every time I have to go to her and adjust the belts and bags. Very uncomfortable for me and probably uncomfortable for her. There needs to be a way to attach the bottom of the bags to the seat belts. For this reason I make the bags unusable. I hope this review helps you decide if this harness is right for your dog. I would not buy a second one and will probably return my old one.
