My old cable was a TRUE VGA cable so pin 1 had a wire going to pin 1 on the other end and this followed 12 pins, pins 6-8 were connected to the metal case (shields for pins 1-3. Other Cable uses above but also uses pin 10 (VGA ground) This cable is connected to chassis ground on pins 5-8 and pin 11. THIS IS an issue with some devices' own pinout guides, so "VGA cable" plays no longer matter 4, 6-10 and 11 while others are 5-8 So until the sellers list the pins in the description for you to check at home, be ready to buy multiple types and send back the ones that do not work.
