Like everyone else I finally bought a Brother compatible drum as a new Brother drum almost matched the price of a new printer. This photoconductor arrived with a partially detached metal roller that had fallen out. I just reassembled it and installed the drum kit in my HL-2070N printer. Unfortunately, I never got the crisp print I was used to from my old trusty printer with such a drum, but I continued to use it anyway. Now, a few months later, the drum is completely out of order. The coating on one end of the drum is wavy. Printing is no longer possible. Now I need a new drum or printer and I just bought a new (official) Brother toner cartridge. I bet this inexpensive drum will keep my printer going for a year or two. This device is garbage. From now on I will be using official Brother hardware in Brother printers (which I like). Due to the high cost of the new drum, I replaced that printer with a new one, also Brother. But no more "compatible" drums. It's not worth it.
