Review on πŸ”₯ Enhanced Performance Brake Kit: Power Stop K2315 Z23 Carbon Fiber Brake Pads with Drilled & Slotted Front and Rear Brake Rotors by John Hickey

Remember the old adage, you get what you pay for.

I got this kit for my 06 Scion Tc because I needed new rotors, I read the reviews and decided to try them. My first thought was that they are pretty decent, especially for the price. After installing them and going through the break-in procedure as instructed, I noticed that they were pretty noisy at first, but the more I rode them the better it got. However, I noticed a scrape of metal on metal when turning right. Upon further investigation, I found that the inner rotor head was scratching the internal rear brake heat shield. On this car the inner shield is for the parking brake pads, it doesn't move or bend like the front one. Knowing this, I concluded that the inner head of the rotor was not machined correctly and contacted the company that had raised the issue. Well I have to say that the customer support at Power Stop is very poor. So if you have a problem, good luck, yes, and the warranty period is only 30 days. Their solution to my problem was to buy another rotor from them, send the defective one back and once they confirm the part was defective I get a refund. Knowing these parts are made in China and likely cost next to nothing, I've never had to deal with a ridiculous warranty return service. Needless to say, my friend only lightly treated the inner hat to keep it from scratching, everything is fine now. Would I buy them again, no, I've learned my lesson. They're cheap chinese junk and if you have a problem with them, they're almost impossible to fix.
