Expensive but great tool!

Full Disclosure: I received this product at tax value in exchange for an unbiased evaluation. I've wanted a thermal imaging camera for a long time, but could never justify the expense. When I saw this on Vine I jumped at it as I could get it at a significant discount. It's a pretty cool imager. It is fully self-contained with 16GB onboard memory, Li-Ion battery, onboard work light, etc. However, when combined with a 2-megapixel visual camera, it is more than enough to create accurate thermal images with relatively high resolution. Even though many of them are quite slow, only a few frames per second, this camera reads at 25 frames per second. This means you can move it around pretty quickly and get a really good idea of where the hot and cold spots are. There are many modes of operation, but the main ones are the ability to choose the picture mode and color palette. You can choose from Thermal Only, Optical Only, Fusion (combining thermal and optical camera images), and Picture-in-Picture, which uses a thermal overlay over part of the optical image. The camera supports multiple image palettes with different artificial color modes, so you can choose the one that best suits your situation. This camera supports auto temperature range from -4F to 1022F. If you need more accuracy, you can compensate for the emissivity of the measured surface, the distance to the object, and the temperature range. It automatically measures and displays the temperature of the midpoint, the hottest and coldest points, and the measured temperature range. You can also configure up to three preset points for additional measurements, as well as temperature alerts when a specific range is exceeded. This allows you to use it not only as a special measuring tool, but also as a calibrated testing tool under industrial conditions. I haven't tried this, but in theory you could also connect it to a computer via USB-C to export the display to a higher resolution screen. It comes in a very padded box with instructions, a multinational USB charging adapter and a charging cable. .Net-net is that it's a validation/quality check tool and you won't be disappointed with it at all. While expensive, it doesn't go beyond tools with similar capabilities. I am very impressed with this tool. If you want WiFi capabilities, the B20 model is only $50 more.
