Farewell gift for a colleague: a key fob manipulated by the jury

I gave this gift to a close associate of mine who was leaving our office for another opportunity and while it was well received I can't say it was special or memorable. The key fob itself is reasonably serviceable, with a solid metal frame that should stand up to regular use. Its design is simple but tasteful, with a small key ring engraved with the word "Goodbye". I guess it doesn't come across as overly sentimental or cheesy. Where this gift really falls short, though, is the lack of thoughtfulness. It almost looks like I put it together at the last minute because I felt compelled to pass something on to my co-workers. While it's by no means a bad gift, it doesn't really say "thank you for all your hard work and all the memories we shared." It looks more like a token than anything else. If you're looking for a quick and easy way to say goodbye to a colleague, this keychain will help. However, if you want to make a lasting impression or show your appreciation in a more meaningful way, you might be better off looking elsewhere.

Pros
  • quality and durable
Cons
  • Quality Issues: There may be concerns about the keychain's durability and quality, which could undermine its value as a parting gift for someone who was an important part of your work or social life.
