It didn't fit in any vents in our boat but did properly adhere to glass or any cleaned glass like surface which worked for us. I haven't had any problems yet. , holds the phone well and does not fall down even on windy days or when our dog walks past it. I liked the design in that you can change the angle in seconds while the phone is on it. My husband's phone is newer and much bigger than mine, but still fits in it.
