As others have pointed out, it sits at a different "level" than the stock lever. This was what I was looking for, I needed something higher but not as much as a "spline" on a brick. freedom of movement. You really don't see the modification. It worked really well for me in MX boots. The first picture shows it seated, the black mark on the side guard is the top of the stock derailleur in the highest position it could move without hitting the sprocket cap. The second picture shows that I made a cover to allow full movement of the derailleur. The first picture shows you can't tell I changed anything. Hope this helps, if you just need the switch to sit a little higher this will do the job
