Review on ๐Ÿ”‘ Convenient Keyless Entry Replacement for MOZB41TG with 4D67 Chip Vehicles by Seth Wood

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Fits 2009 Scion tC

My girlfriend bought a used car without a spare key. I looked around, called the Toyota dealership and a couple of locksmiths. They wanted what I think is too expensive for a key, $80-200, so mugging. Just save a ton of money by not making them get me dirty. This key fits the 2009 Scion tC perfectly. The Keyless2Go website states that there are no instructions on how to program the transponder chip. It is not true. There are YouTube videos and the most helpful rating instructions are spot on. If you find directions that involve hitting the gas or taking a break, stop and look for others that work. It took me two tries to get the remote to open and lock the door. However, it was easy to do. The instructions on the website match my make/model. The transponder needed several attempts. However, it worked. The entire programming process took less than ten minutes, not bad as I'd never done it before and screwed up a few times. The hardest part was finding a place to carve the key. Most places will tell you they won't cut it. If you ask politely and tell them you don't mind if it's cut poorly, they'll usually just cut it. They didn't charge me because the key cutter was afraid it just wouldn't work. I would definitely get new keys this way again. Easy instructions, key works as promised, had to chat a bit to cut it but still a great way to save money. The only thing I don't like about the key is that the buttons in the fob don't feel secure. I mean, I don't think they're going to fall out, they just don't feel secure in their position. Therefore one star is missing. I will say that I programmed the key and then put it on my grandma's key fob in place of the original key. Two days later I asked if the key worked, she had no idea I had changed keys. The only difference from the standard original key is the absence of the Scion logo.
