I have been an ASE certified technician for 18 years. I've used the Launch line of products before. So I was able to buy these with a lot of confidence. It lives up to its reputation as a good quick scan tool for diagnosing both complex and simple repairs. Trouble codes don't tell you what's wrong with the car, they just point you in the right direction. And diagnosing your car is all about narrowing down the search. This tool gives you the ability to do that not just by extracting the codes, but by actually giving you real-time data so you can test the potentially bad part, rather than just swapping it out and seeing if that fixes the problem. Some of our large scanners are large and bulky. So if I can use the launch scanner, I do so because it's compact and you can get in there and see what's going on quickly. And when you're paid based on hours worked, actual time doesn't count. Therefore, I recommend this tool not only to experienced professionals, but also to those who do it themselves. No one is born with an innate knowledge of auto repair and this is a good tool at an amazing price that can go a long way.
