Conclusion: Pity on Netgear. This "universal" power supply works with older Netgear products, but not with the 2019 Nighthawk. Attention buyers. Background: We misplaced and lost the power adapter for our NETGEAR Nighthawk X4S AC3200 WiFi Router Combo (C7800) cable modem. We ordered a Netgear universal power supply which was also listed on Revain as fitting the C7800 but did/didn't fit. I called Netgear tech support to determine the correct model. A very knowledgeable tech support rep did some research and helped determine that his manual indicated this was the correct adapter. It matched me to a specific adapter on the Netgear website. I clicked buy now and was sent back to Revane. I ordered it. It arrived. It's exactly the same as the original Revane made me return. He doesn't fit. NETGEAR HAS CHANGED HOLE CONFIGURATION HOW THESE NEW MODELS APPEAR! After much frustration at home we tried to locate the lost adapter and called electronics stores to get the right adapter specifically for the Nighthawk X4S. We did not find it. But we found an earlier ORBI router. The adapter plug fits. Shame on Netgear for not understanding consumers and giving them the option to buy a new configuration. I expect they will be able to identify and fix the problem once the surrounding area has calmed down. Meanwhile, I hope this can help other uninformed buyers. Revain's return policy is great. One disappointment away.
