Stronger signal in a large house

This antenna has worked well for me in a large single family home. It was connected to a Wireless (G) Linksys router. My router is in the basement of the house and I couldn't establish a stable connection anywhere in the house. I definitely recommend this product for signal range extension. However, you should be aware that network adapters play a role in this situation. First, I had a Linksys wireless USB adapter that couldn't pick up a weak signal. I switched to a Netgear WG121 and it set the

Helps network antennas

All I can say is that it helps boost your signal. The number of upgrades depends on which antenna you already have. I already had a decent antenna and that gave me the little boost I needed to stay connected.

  • Good stuff
Cons
  • Can I add something

I just tested this with a wireless relay router I'm building. I bought one of these from the CompUSA store many years ago to use in the NetStumbler Wi-Fi device. I just bought a second one to convert my NetStumbler hardware into a relay router. The gain of these antennas over the standard antenna is sometimes nominal, but it is. In my tests, the overall gain ranged from 2 to 10 dB. If you calculate the average, you get the 6 dB indicated on the packaging. One thing you need to understand isโ€ฆ

Fixed some transmission problems in my house

I bought this antenna because I read about some of the potential benefits of a high gain antenna - I wasn't expecting miracles but in my situation this antenna is quite impressive. I have a D-Link DI-624 router and the house is two stories - the router is downstairs in the dining room and I mostly use my laptop in my upstairs room which is pretty much directly above the room that the AP is. My signal strength wasn't a problem with my original antenna but my signal quality (noise) was, I canโ€ฆ

Helped - Computers and Accessories

I wanted to extend the range of my wireless network. This product worked, but if you need some serious amplification you might want to look at a repeater. Overall this is a good product, especially for the price.

Simple and easy to use

This wireless antenna works very well and is easy to install. I simply unscrewed the antenna of my WLAN card and screwed in the antenna plug. My only problem was that the cable connecting the antenna to the power supply was too short. It should have several meters of cable.

Gain 6dB. fits computers and accessories

Signal strength has increased, but not by much. I ended up going out and buying a new Linksys SRX200 wireless router and guess what, it also increased my signal strength, but only slightly. All in all I believe this antenna works as advertised. But I've learned my lesson: next time I'll just buy a repeater (but it's too late!)

Works much better than its successor HAI7SIP

This particular antenna works much better than its successor HAI7SIP, although this gain is theoretically 6dB instead of 7dB. Range and reliability were better than HAI7SIP. Could this be due to the robust construction? I haven't tested this on an 802.11N network, but it should still work effectively. Very happy with this purchase.

It's receiving a signal to our Marina

I've had this antenna for 6-8 years and I've lived in this house for 11 years. Our pier is about 100 meters from the house. Our main network devices are centrally located on the ground floor and the WiFi in the house worked quite well, even in some spots upstairs. Shortly after moving in we bought a second wireless router which we set up upstairs to try and extend coverage to a docking station and it worked great upstairs or on the back porch. You could "see" the router from the dock above, but
