As another commented, the straw becomes as cold as it is runny when in use. I have a good reason to need this effect. Sitting in my car in the Arizona heat (which is what I do all the time, so after shopping, have a cold drink and get back in my truck), the steel straw gets hot. I ordered silicone tips to see if that helps. I wish someone could tell these are HUGE diameter straws. I want strong pressure so they fit the top hole of the 30 ounce mug. I'll look for smaller ones because I don't like how much air you have to hold for the size. Does not help those with GERD. But they are good quality so I can't discount much.
