Provided your backpack's shoulder straps are in the right place to attach them (see photos carefully), these straps offer an economical solution for carrying your camera bag on the front so that it is easily accessible. The clips on the end are metal and medium sized (look at the photos again) which means they attach to the camera body or a ring on the camera strap, not directly to the camera body. This system does not prevent the camera from swinging from side to side or bouncing around on your body. I've used it for long day hikes in the Rocky Mountains and 95% of the time it wasn't a problem, but for more energetic activities you might want to consider using one of the Think Tank multipoint harnesses.
