Review on Collet Assorted QQ300 Welding Torch by Patrick Cox

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Exactly what was needed

Not sure if other reviewers found the product incomplete or defective and left an overall rating of 1 or 2 but found for the package as received I found exactly what I was looking for. The product arrived a day early (+1 for Revain Prime). I needed a larger nozzle than the #8 in my current kit, especially for flat and overlap seams. The #10 and #12 nozzles are the most commonly used. The packaging was good enough. Installing the new gas lens housing and nozzle was easy with no problems. I had a lot of collets of different sizes, but a few more didn't hurt. The same applies to the supplied back cover. The 1/8" 10N25 collet is probably the most used and is the one I used for the verification test. Most TIG welding is done on 1/8" and 1/4" aluminum with a Lincoln Precision Tig 225. With more lens, I increased the gas flow rate to 35 CFM (compared to the usual 30 CFM when using the standard lens), and the welds were good. After increasing it to 40 CFM, the welds look a little cleaner and as good as can be guess I that a larger surface area requires more gas. The only downside is that the nozzle sizes are not printed on the nozzles as shown in the product images. I usually have a caliper on hand when I'm welding, so one issue isn't enough to lower 5 stars I bought this one product out of my own pocket and not for free for reference. I'm not a full time aluminum TIG welder but I use a significant amount of aluminum in my projects which I can't endorse I recommend based on a sample of this product but I can share my experience. 100% satisfied.
