Review on Standard Motor Products DS 534 Multi Function by Robert Capers

So I bought two of these and they came with the bars already popping out (1st photo). I looked at my original where the shaft was tired and removed the top and spring but the bottom shaft is still stuck (2nd photo). I took pictures of the new ones and the tails that look like they're made out of cheap plastic (3rd photo). Visual comparison: The original is simply made of the "better" material. I have been buying standard products for 35 years and have always considered them high end. I think the quality has changed over the years. I'm just glad that Revain is cool with item swapping; I just hope the replacement is better but I won't hold my breath. My guess is that if the next two are junk I can check the dump like someone else (doubtful I'll get through the dealer yet).
