Weights are made of high quality stainless steel with a mirror finish. A very weak attraction to a strong magnet confirms this. I only have a very old but well-preserved Mettler H10 analytical balance with an accuracy of 0.1 milligrams. I cannot use this scale to check the accuracy of the scale, but I can use the scale to compare weights. Scales (when used correctly) are extremely sensitive to the smallest changes in weight. Example 5 grams compared to combined weights of 1, 2 and 2 grams. Running several of these comparisons at different weights showed absolutely no noticeable difference. I know this doesn't confirm the accuracy, but it shows that their relative values are very consistent. This tells me that they have been carefully tuned and are therefore likely to be very accurate. I could only make these comparisons with weights of 100g or less as my scale is 159g. Overall this set is great quality for the money. I don't normally write reviews but just had to say what great value this is.
