I am so annoyed by the brazen lie that it is a 10x magnifying glass. I was leery as this is a lot for a single lens and would require a very long focal length (distance from the object being viewed) and would also usually introduce a lot of optical distortion (which is why you usually use a combination lens if you go over 5x out. I measured this and it's actually a 2X loupe. This means objects appear twice as tall and wide as they actually are. All you have to do is point the loupe at the ruler and close see how many inches you can see right away when it's in focus. Then take the diameter in inches of the loupe itself and divide by that number. Loupes typically have 2x or 3x magnification, at least that's what they would say at a magnification that magnifies a little more than most others, but it doesn't It looks like the specs of many of the other loupes on Revain are approximate as well outright lies (although still much better than eBay where about 80% of this is outright false information - e Even if a claim was found at 45x magnification - that would mean you can see 1/16th of an inch if you use glass several feet away from what you are seeing). a lens - they are probably fake. I'm returning this, but now I'm nervous about even buying a 3X lens from Revain for fear it will be a 2X, mislabeled for better reading.
