This does not allow for adjustment during use. In order to obtain a watertight seal, the base must be screwed in so tightly that it practically freezes the movement of the ball joint. It's totally fine if you want to install it in one position and leave it there. In my case, I wanted to increase the range of motion of the shower head to make cleaning easier. Good
