Review on ✈️ Ultimate In-Flight Comfort: Telex Airman 8 XLR (Airbus) ANR Headset by Jathan Louis

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Bad plug contact?

Headset worked fine in ANR mode with acceptable noise reduction for Airbus. At first I was satisfied, but after about an hour the microphone stopped working. I swapped out the headset mid-flight for the included pair in the cockpit to complete the flight. I tried testing them when I went down to the ground with the ground crew and they heard me perfectly, but I couldn't hear my transmission and I couldn't hear myself over the intercom. At first I was able to hear myself on the intercom and when I went to VHF the sound completely disappeared in flight. When on the ground, when I engaged the intercom, I could barely hear myself through the headset, but I could hear the other pilot and hear VHF chatter. I think the connector pin was bad. Return after one use. I'll try the replacement kit and will update this post after trying the new kit. Update a week later: I bought another headset from another seller and it works fine. I think that the problem in the first sentence was in the contact of the connector. This replacement headset works as advertised. ANR mode offers little noise reduction. Not even close to Bose or David Clark in comparison, but for the price it works great in Airbus. They are lightweight and take up less space in a professional bag than Bose or DC models. You will need to purchase an adapter for the 2-pin aircraft connector.
