✈️ Ultimate In-Flight Comfort: Telex Airman 8 XLR (Airbus) ANR Headset Review

As expected, ANR works great in the cockpit of an Airbus A-320. Normal noises caused by fatigue are definitely reduced by about 50% on average. Worth the price. Superb build quality as expected from any Telex product.

Have had them for a few days now and am a little disappointed. They're comfortable enough and ANR reduces noise in the A320, but the problem lies with the microphone. There is almost no side tone, so I don't hear my own voice, and the microphone has to touch my mouth or the controllers and other crew members won't hear me. If I can't fix it by adjusting the mic gain via telex support, they will come back.

Headset worked fine in ANR mode with acceptable noise reduction for Airbus. At first I was satisfied, but after about an hour the microphone stopped working. I swapped out the headset mid-flight for the included pair in the cockpit to complete the flight. I tried testing them when I went down to the ground with the ground crew and they heard me perfectly, but I couldn't hear my transmission and I couldn't hear myself over the intercom.
