Review on πŸ’ͺ PowerColor Radeon RX 6600 Fighter 8GB Review: Unleashing Retail Performance by Kenta Sasaki ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I really like the product, it fully meets my expectations.

In general, retail should have a 2g guarantee, but PowerColor is presented with us only through distributors, and they can work on different conditions. In this case, the 3Logic distributor gives a 3-month warranty. Since these video cards are quite tasty for miners, apparently distributors do not want to take unnecessary risks (well, not without greed, of course). Thank you miners for our happy guarantee! But, if it consoles someone, the guarantee is usually included in the final price of the goods, and here is one of the lowest prices. In the trailer, 3 months to figure out whether the card is defective or not, IMHO, is enough. But the effect is somewhat blurred. I would not call the card itself particularly hot, but also cold. In the furmark with 55% fans (~2022rpm noisy, but not very) the average temperature is 65C (hotspot (the hottest point of the GPU) is 75C). In games, my card works on average at 40-44% (1400-1500rpm) and a temperature of 61-64C (71-74C hotspot, respectively). BUT, this is with the air conditioner on and I have a fairly well-ventilated case: matrexx 55 mech with 3x120mm turntables for blowing in and 1x120mm for blowing out (although my case itself is not very well placed in the corner of the table). With the air conditioner turned off in games, it is already about 66-68C (76-78 hotspot). In idle and with passive cooling: when surfing / working in Photoshop / watching movies, the temperature can vary from 37C to 51C (37-51 hotspots) depending on the load and ambient temperature, with turntables on 28C-37C. In general, the card is not hot, but it is quite demanding in terms of airflow and ambient temperature, I do not recommend putting it in any coffin. An interesting fact: I noticed with The Witcher 3: with transcendent quality, if you limit the frames to 60, then the load on the GPU and the temperature of the GPU will drop by 10 degrees. In general, I am satisfied with the card, after the GTX 750 Ti - it feels like I switched from a piston fighter to a rocket and flew into space on it.

Pros
  • By seller (Lime store seller, RTL at the end of the product name): - Relatively low price (29K); - The video card is new, it came in a box (see photo) - there are no traces of use, the serial numbers on the box and the video card are the same. - Packed well enough (see photo) By map: - In terms of performance, it currently has no competitors for this price. - There is some kind of ray tracing. - Despite the fact that this is the most budget version of the RX6600, I personally did not notice any serious jambs in the circuitry and cooling device on the card. Cheap (relatively) and cheerful. - The manufacturer declares fans on double bearings. - Energy efficient. According to the monitoring of the autoburner in games, the consumption is on average 100W - The lack of a plastic backplate - it would not look bad - yes, but it would worsen the cooling. - By default, the fans start only when heated from 60 degrees (with a well-ventilated case, in terms of silence, this is a plus). - Personally, I like the design of the card - simple but tasteful - Specifically, in my card, the memory costs from microns, in the reviews I saw only huniks. In my opinion, this is also a plus, since there is a rumor that during overclocking and / or strong heating, hunix gddr6 chips suffer from moldboards due to marriage. Micron has already passed this stage.
Cons
  • As for the seller: the seller, aka Lime Stor, aka New IT Project, aka 3Logic distributor, gives a guarantee on the card for only 3 months, such a mudflow. By map: - The bundle is as budget-friendly as possible - a box, a cardboard damper, an anti-satanic package, the card itself, a cardboard box with a link to the manual (Do we have a manual? - We have something better: a link to the manual), really truncated. - Missing memory and vrm temperature sensors. - When manually setting the Adrenaline fans: 1) it does not allow to set the rotation speed below 35%, 2) it does not allow to reduce the temperature threshold for turning on the fans. I don't know why, but it's annoying. - Specifically, my case: after installing the video card, MSI's proprietary backlight setup utility (b450m Mortar Max board) broke down, reinstalling the utilities did not help, probably the reason was in the old BIOS from early 2022. - From quibbles: the aluminum heatsink of the card, IMHO, is a little watery, and I would like the vrm heatsink to be bigger, or that it be part of the main heatsink. No metal backplate. But the card is still budget. For all this and lighting, it is better to turn to the older version of this PowerColor model - Hellhound.

Pros: Very good performance for the money Cons below: After 10 days of use, one of the turntables began to make a disgusting crack at any speed, you can live with this, but the overall impression is spoiled
