Perfect solution for my application

I read a lot of bad reviews about this product but for $20 I took a chance. I've read that it doesn't turn on or off after installation. I suspect it is connected incorrectly. is yours on fire? Probably trying to drive too much speakers. I do not know. I was not there. But this module works fine for my application that didn't have it installed on the computer. I put together a pretty backyard with lots of greenery, lighting and water features and I wanted to add some sound to play the sound effects of creatures like crickets. and frogs as well as music. I didn't want to spend a lot of money and I already had speakers. I purchased this unit as well as a step down transformer adapter (less than $30 total). I bought 250 feet of heavy duty speaker wire which cost more than the radio and adapter combined. Its worth it. I cut the cigarette lighter end off the adapter and plugged it straight into the adapter plug that came with the radio. I then connected the speakers around my property to the included radio adapter plug. The installation worked perfectly. In the evenings I now sit with a cold beer in my hand in front of a waterfall, a fire in the pit and listen to the sounds and music coming from the bushes. The block itself does almost everything I need. I didn't want or need a CD player or bluetooth so I was fine with that. It played effects and music flawlessly through USB and SD slots. I could repeat one track or all at once. The device plays MP3 and WMA files. Although the documentation doesn't mention this, it also plays WAV files as long as they are only two-channel. The device gets slightly (barely) warm, but that is to be expected from any electronic device. I experimented with hooking up a subwoofer but quickly disconnected it as the radio couldn't control it and started getting quite hot. Attempting to drive this thing could burn the radio. An amplifier is required to add a woofer. I can't say anything about the radio function because I don't use it and haven't even connected the antenna. The unit has basic fade, bass and treble controls or an EQ with three or four options. I was in the middle of a track on the SD card and switched to USB. When I switched back to the SD card, it picked up where it left off. Fast forward seems to advance about 15 seconds for every second you hold down the button. I had the only problem when trying to reverse fast. Sometimes it seemed to work fine, but other times it didn't seem to want to work. There may have been problems with any MP3 files I tried accelerating that had the problem, although they all played fine. I'm not worried about that as I really don't use this feature very often. Some people say that certain functions or the entire device fail after months, weeks or even days. I guess I'll wait and see. It would be nice, as others have said, to only have the clock on screen while music is playing, but that's not the case. All information about your tracks continues to scroll across the screen. Maybe there is a way to do this, but if not, it doesn't matter. I didn't buy for watches. I didn't even bother setting the time. So far I am very happy with my results.
