I recently bought a Rab Neutrino Plus jacket that was in need of a musty odorant. This jacket was new with tags but appeared to have been in storage for some time. I'm stuck between a Grangers product and another widely recommended brand. Grangers Down Wash seems to get the best reviews in general so I took a chance. The Neutrino Plus jacket is the stronger brother of the Neutrino Endurance and Pro jackets. To say the least, this is a solid down jacket. The large amount of down made me a little nervous about washing the jacket at home. However, I didn't trust any other local options. I followed Rabs and Granger's instructions and put it in a front-loading washing machine. I put two capfuls of solution straight into the detergent drawer. After washing for an hour, I put the jacket in the dryer with a towel. This was recommended to protect the box baffle in the cabinet after saturation. I put three spike balls in the dryer with the jacket and set it on low heat. I took off my jacket every thirty minutes and stirred the lint in each baffle. Four hours later I had an even bigger jacket. Most importantly, the jacket has a pleasant neutral smell! Good product.
