This is fantastic for your fur girl! Our vet has advised against spaying our Labrador puppies before they are on heat for a number of reasons. I bought the Bolshaya in March in anticipation of its warmth because I wanted to be ready for the closure. She turned 28 on August 1st and came into heat on August 21st. The Large fits her but feels tight (she's been growing since March!) so I ordered an Extra Large set. They were too big. The Velcro on the XL still overlapped and gaped around the legs. So I think she's between sizes (?). I needed the most. They are very easy to clean (just spray with Dawn Power and run any stains under cold water, then toss inside out)! Allow to air dry. That's all! After 11 days of constant wear, they still look brand new! I also used women's panty liners (2 side by side, lined up at the back of the sewn rectangle closest to the tail hole). It made cleaning very easy for me - hooray! I would highly recommend them as they come in cute girly colors and they fit well and are easy to put on and very easy to clean. The velcro is very strong which was good because my girl finished it by day 8 (who couldn't!) and sometimes tried to take it off and got lost in the thing. They stayed! For reference, I had two of the 3 packs of Large and one of the 3 packs of XL. That seemed enough to me since I wash myself several times a day (I have 3 boys and a man at home). I'd say get at least 2 packs out of 3 to give yourself some rotational room. As long as I sprayed them with Dawn after taking them off and putting them in the water, I could wait the rest of the day to wash them. I hope this helps the mother of a girl pup prepare for the fact that you will have to go through a heat cycle.
