I wasn't expecting a miracle or even a big change, but I was hoping it might "de-escalate" the tension between my three cats; "Hooligan", "Eternal Victim". and "Innocent Witness". This worked well enough to cause a pause in the aggressive cycle, giving us an opportunity to experiment with some behavior ideas. It is difficult to assess a causal relationship. Has Spray B calmed down to make PV less scary? Or was PV sedated and therefore not such a fun and reactive target for B? Did both react to the spray and work double? Our dropper enjoys the new, more relaxed atmosphere and feels better too. I've sprayed where they sleep and sprayed myself or a throw pillow so they associate the spray with quiet times when I pet them. Haven't sprayed into the carrier yet. It smells like lavender, it doesn't bother me. I never found it "too wet" because I spray it conservatively. Neither furniture nor clothing was touched. I splashed a bit on my sneakers to freshen them up and sure enough I found the cat snoring with its nose in my shoe. Do you want to cheer up your cat by calming them down? Soak some catnip in a soothing spray. It will cheer up the cat, and watching the performance will cheer you up too!
