Don't waste your time. These are great looking heatsinks and are easy to fit. However, they do not reduce the operating temperature of the Raspberry Pi. Consider saving a few bucks to spend on something else for your project. I have used dozens of RPi 3B+ and four RPi 4B in different applications. They all record operating parameters such as CPU temperature on a central server. The following test results aren't "gosh, I feel like they don't do anything." Test results are hard, undeniable metrics that are automatically recorded from all my RPis. The maximum operating temperature, i.e. the point at which the processor "throttles" to reduce waste heat, is 80°C - well above the measured 61°C. This factor should be enough to discourage anyone from wasting their time. I suspect that the very small area of each heatsink relative to the thickness of the 3M adhesive may reduce the efficiency of the heatsink. On the other hand, adding those heatsinks won't "hurt" either. Test Conditions: Raspberry Pi 4 idle (<2% load) outdoors (no blower/fan) without a case and away from other significant heat sources. , removed from any environmental influences (heating/air conditioning/returns), with sampling every 60 seconds. Thus, the before and after readings span several days, so the temperatures reported are static idle operating temperatures. Temperatures vary by +/-1°C, from 60 to 62°C. Temperature obtained with: /opt/vc/bin/vcgencmd Measure_temp Without heatsink (bare board): CPU average 61°C. All three heatsinks: CPU average 61°C. The effect of adding a fan and heatsinks is unknown. I'll have the metrics for this configuration in a couple of weeks...
