Review on Kutsuwa STAD Angle Adjustable Pencil Sharpener T&#39 by Linda Diaz

Poor and unstable performance of T'Gaal sharpener

I've been trying to use this T'Gaal sharpener for about three weeks and unfortunately I'm disappointed with its poor performance. I was very excited to try this as I really liked its portable qualities like self-contained shavings and relatively low profile (for carrying in a pocket or purse compartment). I bought this to use with different brands of colored pencils, expecting that some would sharpen better than others. This is because some stamps are larger in circumference than others and some are hexagonal rather than smooth round. Well, even though I've tried every setting (1-5) on the little wheel for my different brands and shapes of crayons, T'Gaal couldn't give me a sharp point. He cut wood well, but never got a sharp point. Sometimes it was close, but more often than not it failed. It didn't look like a specific brand either. Contradictory results were observed with pencils of the same brand. I've also tried holding the pencil and rotating the sharpener around the pencil, as well as holding the sharpener and rotating the pencil. In any case, there was no significant difference. While I really like this sharpener, I would not recommend it due to its inconsistent and poor performance with the following brands of colored pencils:* Derwent Inktense* Faber-Castell Aquarell* PrismaColor Premier colored pencils* Faber-Castell Polychromos* Ohuhu
