I bought it because I drink red wine quite often. I'm not a wine specialist but I know what I like and I buy very good wine at very reasonable prices. So I got it and I'm very happy with it. Very good price and good durable item. I did a taste test to see if I could tell the difference. He drank wine from a bottle and let it "breathe" for a few minutes; then they poured some wine through the aerator and drank it immediately. The difference is VERY NOTICEABLE, even to my untrained taste. The wine taste has become fresher, softer, less tart and more aromatic! I no longer drink red wines without them, and if I forget, I pour the wine back into the bottle and attach the aerator. Another nice feature? Wine drops won't run down the walls of the aerator - the rim of the aerator stops this, eliminating the risk of dripping onto a tablecloth or shirt. Excellent product, I plan to buy more as gifts!
