I don't know what's up with carters, but no matter how tall they are, they always make shirts smaller than pants. I love her style so I've bought a couple of pajamas for the past few years and the pants always fit perfectly, but the shirt is small and the sleeves are slim so only suitable for skinny kids. My son is quite skinny and fits him quite tight like a fitted shirt. I would upsize them for decent use and only get them if you have skinny kids. If it matters to you, the top and bottom are made of different materials. The top is like cotton and the pants are thick like fleece.
