Review on πŸš€ Enhance Your Ford (Focus) Performance with the K&N Cold Air Intake Kit: Boost Horsepower with 2007-2009 Model Fit 69-3513TTK by Davey Kamau

Amazing, measurable difference.

Before I installed this K&N unit in my Focus (2009, PZEV), I found that my average fuel economy for a week or so commuting was 33.9mpg (this is a Mixture of highway and city driving in Appalachia so lots of hills and some stop and go). When I replaced the stock filter system and kept the same driving habits, I averaged 36.2mpg in three days. The 2.3mpg increase is substantial, nearly 30 additional miles per tank of fuel, saving over $3 per fill at current gas prices. Also, I've noticed some increase in power and acceleration, particularly on freeway exits, overtaking, etc. My Focus has 60,000 miles on it so your K&N modification may vary slightly depending on the condition/mileage of your original filter. It took me 95 minutes to install (cleaning included), but whenever the manual mentions additional hardware for the Focus, I had it. Installation wasn't too difficult, but if you've never spent any time under the hood of your car, you might not want to. To a few other reviewers: Firstly, if you haven't bought this, don't write a review. That. Taking off a star because it's too expensive is ridiculous. The five horsepower is about 4% more than your Focus and also increases fuel economy. Secondly, all of the literature on this setup clearly states that it only applies to PZEV engines. If you don't have a PZEV, search the K&N website for the appropriate model. Third, I drove 50 miles (interstate), then 10 miles city in 85 degree weather, high humidity and no issues. My guess is that someone in Chicago had the problem because they didn't reboot the system (by disconnecting the battery). The purchase of this device is definitely worthwhile.
