HDMI splitters seem to be a complex technology, since there are many negative reviews about many different types and manufacturers. After reading many different reviews on Revain, I decided to give this device a try after the first device I tried, from Mediabridge, didn't work properly (no sound on any of my three HDTVs, regardless of cable length or the connection to the splitter). This J-Tech unit was ALMOST the only one as it seemed to work properly straight out of the box with all 3 TVs having uncompromised sound and picture. Unfortunately, after a few hours, I noticed an instant loss of sound and picture for a few seconds no matter what TV was watched and how much was on. This anomaly rarely happened (once every few hours) so I wasn't sure if I should leave the device or not. I decided that instead of returning the device immediately, I would try ViewHD's third device and keep the better performing one. In short, even after several hours of playback, the ViewHD device had excellent sound and picture quality with no audio dropouts. The ViewHD unit was also about 20% cheaper and had an on/off switch (the J-Tech unit didn't have one). The deal for the ViewHD and the J-Tech device was quickly returned. Another point worth noting about the J-Tech splitter is that they have sent me TWO separate emails asking if I like the device and to contact them before posting. negative feedback. Sorry J-Tech, but there are no settings or adjustments on the unit, and I used brand new HDMI cables that work in-line without the unit, so there was no installation issue on my part. If the device is found not to work properly right out of the box, the device will be RETURNED to AMAZON for a refund and I will post an honest account of my experience without first contacting the manufacturer. This is why people buy from Revain to get a good price and a direct view. I won't bother with warranty returns on a brand new device if I can get my money back and try another brand. You should expect it. If you don't want negative reviews, you should focus your efforts on getting the product to work the first time and not misleading the customer too much.
