The 1x4 4k splitter seemed to do what I needed but using it was more trouble than it was worth. I was trying to send an HDMI signal from a cable box to 3 TVs in my house. This block said it was auto-detect and auto-switch. There was video signal to all 3 TVs but there was snow on one screen. Sound was a big issue. Not all TVs always get sound, no matter how much or how little they are turned on. Restarting the splitter seemed to fix the problem, but it reoccurs as soon as you turn on the new TV

This device appears to work well with a relatively short HDMI cable. However, if you want to use it to pass an HDMI signal to another room in your house, you could be in trouble. When I use this unit with a 50ft HDMI cable going to our bedroom TV, there is no sound on the bedroom TV - only video. Video quality looks okay with the 50ft cable, but again there's no sound. I've had it for a month now and am happy with the results. I bought other designs and wasn't happy with them. I figured I'd never find a switch that actually worked, so when I decided to move the cable box signal to another room in my house, I plugged and plugged the HDMI connectors back in. I bought 2 j-tech splitters, the oldest in 2013. I am using one input from my AV receiver (which handles multiple selectable inputs) for multiple TVs including a projector. I even have an HDMI cable going from the 4 port switch to the second floor and then another j-tech splitter splits it back up.
