I bought this to share the signal coming out of my set top box. There is no selectable port or anything like that. It simply duplicates the incoming signal to other ports. I only needed two ports, but I bought four ports to use later. This works very well except for one problem. When watching an HD channel and switching to a non-HD channel, either by typing in the channel directly or selecting it from the guide, the switcher sometimes failed to receive a signal and the TV lost connection with the splitter. From there I had to turn the splitter off and on again and everything was fine again. However, when I switch from a non-HD channel to an HD channel, everything works fine. That's why I'm giving four stars instead of five. I can't say anything about 4K. Otherwise I'm very happy with how it works. I also use a BlastIR wireless IR repeater which allows me to use separate remote controls for the set top box from both TVs and it works great. Of course, this solution does not allow you to display different channels on each TV.
