Superstar sucker! Dustballs hear the vacuum cleaner approach, start shaking with fear and run to the vacuum cleaner's head to give up! I can vacuum a full canister out of my 8x10 living room rug every other day. I have kids and furry stuff so there is a lot of dirt but this shark is killing it. The head has a removable filter - if you take it out and wash it at least once a month, it will retain its monstrous suction power. If your main goal is clean floors, this is the vacuum for you. Cons - I would. I'd get more than one star for these shortcomings, but the super sucker makes up for them: The motor is loud and makes an annoying high-pitched squeak. The grip is not very comfortable. This machine didn't last as long as I thought - the hose in the carpet head ruptured after a year (several other reviewers also note this defect) and I had to tape it up. After 2 years the engine stopped completely. But - it was still such a favorite vacuum cleaner that I bought this new one just like my old one.
