I loved these multifunctional pen-pencils. I've used them repeatedly, bought extras for friends, I've written them dry before. This was my third reorder, and when I went to remove the little bit of rubbery whatnot that protects the tip of the ballpoint during shipping, it instead popped the entire metal bit out of the ink tube, creating an unholy sticky mess! It was horrible and I'm still waiting on the bottle of alcohol and the washing machine to hopefully save my shirt. Luckily, hand sanitizer and a lot of scrubbing managed to de-Smurf my hands.Such a disappointing quality-control glitch from an otherwise reliable, formidably featured writing implement must be taken into account when buying. Be VERY careful when you take the protective cappity bit off the ballpoint tip! When they're not spontaneously deciding to be ink bombs, they're really quite wonderful, allowing a person to write in pencil and four colors of pen (red, green, black and blue,) at will, with a comfortable grip and a good broad barrel, plus even an eraser that recaps nicely so it doesn't grind in your pocket. Anyone who needs to color-code their notes, who annotates their writing, edits or proofreads will love these -so long as they don't get a bad batch like I did!
