My grandparents have a TV and cable box upstairs and the splitter also runs a coaxial line to the TV on the main level. After granny fell and had hip surgery they now spend most of their time on the main level. They could watch TV downstairs but they couldn't change channels. This setup comes with only 10 feet of cable, but it's a very simple device, the cable that goes to the radiator is basically regular speaker wire. If you need more range (like I did to get from the top floor on one side of the house to the bottom floor on the other side) just go to the radio shed and buy a 50ft coil with 14 gauge speaker wire . I cut the wire between the transmitter and receiver and put a whole 50 foot spool of cable in between and it still worked great after everything was set up. No USB power supply was included with this one, as the others on Amazon are a bit more expensive. I figured it out in the photo and I had a bunch of extra AC to USB adapters from old phones so saving $5-10 was fine. one sensor for everything you want to control remotely. Even before I cut and lengthened the wire I saw that the emitter is very weak and not designed to work at a distance. This can be problematic if you want to manage more than one device. If you're smart you can probably hook up another emitter or two yourself, it's just a special LED that can also be found at the radio store. I have no idea if there's enough current to run two emitters or not, but for $10 I'd give it a shot, or somewhere around here they already have one with two emitters on the end. Definitely very handy, it's easy to set up and hack. a little if you need something more than what comes out of the box.
