Bought a new Goldwing in 2006 along with a J&M headset for my wife and I (we always ride together). The wired system from J&M worked great. We recently decided to switch; a) eliminate the cable and b) be able to connect the Blue Tooth to our phones for calls, music and GPS maps. After reading all the reviews I decided to take a risk and buy Freedom2+ devices. Big disappointment! First, they were linked together at launch. They are then simply connected to our respective phones. But playing with them in the house, it was immediately clear that they wouldn't be both at the same time. But we were able to overcome that. Real issues: Extreme wind noise on my wife's (passenger) unit. The wind buzzed in her ears almost continuously from her microphone. to the point where it gave me a headache. When she tried to speak, she appeared to be standing behind a large fan and speaking through it. I didn't understand a word of what she said. And yes, the mic was properly pointed at her mouth. Then, coincidentally, the intercoms just turned off for no apparent reason. After I talked for 15-20 seconds they reconnected. This fall was very accidental; sometimes half an hour, then a series of 3 minute intervals. Then the connection with the phones disappeared. During our last 3 hour trip my wife missed 2 calls. I've updated the firmware, downloaded the app and changed all sorts of settings, watched lots of troubleshooting YouTube videos, and read endless reviews of people having similar problems and their attempts to solve them. But nothing affected the final result. After trying for a long time to contact Cardo support I finally gave up. (I wonder if their "extremely high number of customer service calls" is related to their extremely poor product?). Even though the Revain return period expired after 2 days, they kindly let me return the product and get a refund. Luckily I still had J&M headphones. They have now been reinstalled. So we don't have Bluetooth; but at least we can talk on our travels and understand each other perfectly. With wired intercoms, you can hear your own voice as well as other people's voices, allowing you to speak at a normal conversational level. What Bluetooth systems cannot do. If you have a bike that already has wired intercom, you will be very disappointed with these Bluetooth systems.
