A nurse friend introduced them to me a few years ago and I've had them in our first aid kits ever since. I allow the cut to bleed for a few seconds to remove potentially dangerous bacteria, rinse with water, then dry and wrap a sterile strip (or several) over the cut, add a drop of antibacterial ointment, and apply a band-aid. up. I apply a patch every day but leave the sterile strip on for at least a few days. When I finally remove the sterile strips (pulling gently to avoid tearing the newly healed wound) I just leave the patch on for a few more days. It helps cuts heal together better than anything else I've tried.
