It's very easy to use, it has all necessary modules in one place (word2vec/GloVe), so you don't have any problems with installation or compatibility issues - everything works out of box! The only drawback I see here are some minor bugs from time to time when running my scripts using python API which could be fixed if there were enough resources available at this moment. If your project needs word embeddings then definitely take into account gensims package because they provide them without additional costs as far i know about now. We used our own data sets but we also had good results comparing against Google Cloud Natural Language Toolkit WordEmbedding module too since both libraries offer same functionality.
