I have stopped servicing the humidifier. If you have hard water like me, the water pad will need to be changed every 3-4 months for best results. This winter I ran it so long that limescale build up on the pad reduced evaporation by +/- 40%. And not only on the gasket, but also on the frame that holds the gasket and distribution pan has a lot of limescale build up - too much to soak in vinegar. Anyway, I needed a new frame, tray and lining. I ordered a Filters Now Maintenance Kit; Good price and good rating. The maintenance kit has everything you need, including some parts you probably don't need. The kit was shipped the next day, arrived on time and the product was as advertised. instructions are included. I also ordered an extra set of water pads but interestingly the best price was for a pack of two pads from Best Air. I have extra gaskets so I can install a new gasket by soaking the used gasket in vinegar overnight (I use a disposable fryer large enough for both the gasket and the frame). Return the pad as good as new. You will need to get new pads after a while as the vinegar will attack the special coating on the pad threads over time.
