Review on Enhanced HVAC Air Filters by FilterBuy - 22X24X1 Pleated Furnace Filters by Tony Francis

Tired of using the washable filter that came with my 1 year old Carrier central air system and getting approval from the installer, I started looking for filters that should be replaced every 3 months. This is what we did with Filtrete filters on our old system. Unfortunately, Filtrete does not make filters for my new Carrier air conditioner. While searching I came across this product and saw many rave reviews and decided to take a chance and buy enough to last me a year. The exchange should occur every 90 days. Today I opened a slot to remove the old filter and was shocked by what I saw. It appears to be widespread mold and I have never seen this before using any other product including the original washable filter. I have attached a photo and will be looking for a new product. At the very least, I would advise people to check the filter monthly to make sure the mold isn't growing to a scary size. Update: Having purchased several of these filters I have followed my own instructions and checked the filters monthly for mold growth. I never had a problem after using them for the first time. I don't know why this problem occurred in the first place. I have a practically new air conditioner and could not imagine that mold could be a problem and I've never had that happen to me, even with my old air conditioner. Everything seems to be working fine and I will be purchasing additional filters from this company.
