These are great basic boots for cold snow days. I am a grown woman but I have small feet and a size 6 is suitable for children and I have room to put on thicker socks. Sizing is quite short, even on a child they will be short as if they have not changed size between younger child's sizes and older child's sizes. That part aside, it's definitely a quality shoe: the bottom is textured and thick to prevent slipping on ice, and the padding is thick (and waterproof) all over. There is a velcro strap to close the shoe, which I really like as it makes putting the boot on and off easy and quick.
