We pulled out the old washers with hard wires. We were looking for a good value product that had all the features needed for worktop lighting and we found it. PROS: very easy installation (it took a few seconds!), simple instructions, lots of features, notably the ability to choose the type of light (e.g. soft white so as not to be too flashy), motion activation works as advertised , high quality materials , excellent adhesion to our base cabinet laminate and good magnet strength, thin and disappear under cabinets, good price and fast delivery. CONS: The included instructions have SMALL PRINT and a difficult to read diagram. The wall outlet charging adapter was not included (but uses a standard phone/computer wall adapter you probably have on hand). Highly recommended.
