It seems strong, but it is useless because its internal space is so small. You can probably *squeeze* clothes into the main compartment in two days. There's also a dedicated tablet compartment, another one specifically for sunglasses, and three more compartments to tuck your travel items into when you're split between three. So yes it can hold 50 pounds of iron but for what you will most likely be using it could be made out of a strong tarpaulin it would be lighter and more comfortable. I won't be returning it, but I wouldn't buy it again.
